- Plan to carry out basic energy sector support activities.
- OHS procedures for a given work area are obtained and understood through established routines.
- Established OHS risk control measures in preparation for the work are followed.
- Safety hazards not previously identified are reported and advice on risk control measures is sought from the work supervisor.
- Basic work instructions are obtained. The nature and location of the work is obtained from the supervisor or other appropriate person to establish the scope of work to be undertaken.
- Basic work instructions are sought from the supervisor. Advice is sought from the supervisor or other appropriate person to ensure the work is coordinated effectively with others.
- Sources of materials that may be required for the work are established in accordance with established routines.
- Tools, equipment and testing devices needed to carry out the work are obtained and checked for correct operation and safety.
- Undertake energy sector support activities.
- Established OHS risk control measures for carrying out the work are followed.
- Plant and equipment is checked in strict accordance OHS requirements and procedures.
- Mechanical equipment is installed straight and square in the required locations and within acceptable tolerances.
- Use of basic hand and power tools in accordance with safe working practices and OHS requirements.
- Basic work instructions are carried out under supervision.
- Procedures for referring non-routine events to immediate supervisor for directions are followed.
- Complete work and tidy up.
